Hello my Reautifuls!

I’ve heard about this gel cream from a few people and I decided to totally ignore the snail part and try out this holy grail of many bloggers. Oh boy, I’m so happy I did!

I’ve been browsing around the web for Korean holy grails and I came across a couple of YouTube videos and blogs where people were raving about this product. For less than 5/6$ I decided to give this holy snailness a shot!

SnailRecoveryGelCream

What it is:

Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream is a gel-type moisturizer. Mizon promises to provide clear, firm and moisturized skin. This cream is the 4rth in line from the snail repair line from Mizon. It contains 74% filtrated snail mucus (in other words: snail slime). No harm is done to any snails in this process!

The benefits of snail mucus/slime:

Snail slime probably is the last thing you would want to put on yourself, but snail cream is actually thought to reduce inflammation and redness (a win for rosacea?!), stimulate skin regeneration, and lock moisture into the skin. Using snail slime for your skin goes way back to the ancient Greece.

Ingredients:
Snail Secretion Filtrate, Butylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether, Dimethylsilane, Polysorbate2-, Sodium Hyaluronate, Carbomer, Glycosyl Trehalose, Hydrogenated Starch Hydolsyate, Triethanolamine, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Caprylyl Glyocol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Polyacrylate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Camellias Sinensis Leaf Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract, Betula Platylphylla Japonica Juice, Tropolone, Copper Tripeptide-1, Allantoin, Panthenol, Olea Europaea (olive) Fruit Oil, Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) Seed Oil, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA

I quite liked the ingredients, especially the snail filtrate to be top on this list!

When I first applied this cream I was disgusted by the fact that it felt really slimy. Am I really going to apply this on my face? After a few times using this cream the sliminess sort of disappears and you really get used to the texture. If you’ve got a lot of redness and inflammation like me, Mizon recommends putting the tube in the refrigerator before using it to cool your face down.  The gel itself feels cooling already but I can imagine it being even better when properly cooled in the fridge.

I really, really love this cream! I cannot go without it anymore. It’s a pity that the tube contains 45ml and that there are no bigger tubes available. I purchased this about a month ago and it’s nearly empty. I use it twice a day, in the morning and at night. It really soothes my inflamed and sensitive red skin. Especially my cheeks and jawline. When I wake up in the morning I can clearly see that a lot of my redness has vanished and my face feels ready for some makeup (and I need less coverage too!).

I really recommend this cream to people with all skintypes. It might not be hydrating enough for people with dry skin like me, but using it in combination with the snail repair cream from Mizon might just do it for you!
