I have been on the hunt for new lip balms lately, because here in the Netherlands the variety of lip balms that don’t contain mineral oil for instance is pretty small. I’ve been petrolatum/mineral oil free for a few years now and decided to give these lip balms from Badger a go and I think I might have found the holy grail of lip balm brands! 💖
There are lots of great reviews on these lip balms from Badger on the internet. I’ve been browsing through iHerb lately to find a couple of new lip balms to try out and I decided I’d go with a gift set of three normal sized lip balms (4.2 grams of product) and one cocoa butter balm that contains 7 (!!!) grams of product. I’ve received these about a week after having placed the order on iHerb and I was absolutely thrilled to try these beauties out!

All lip balms contain certified Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
I absolutely love these lip balms. The regular lip balms are a little greasier than the cocoa butter ones, but I really like my lip balms to be a bit on the ‘oily’ side anyway. I apply my lip balm a couple times a day, because I’m one of them lip chewers and if I don’t apply a lip balm every so now and then I tend to have really sore lips at the end of the day. My lips tend to be really chapped and dry during most seasons and these lip balms are really, really moisturising. They also work amazingly for priming the lips before applying a liquid lipstick. Bye-bye cracked lips!
These lip balms are so, so amazing! They don’t contain a lot of product (although 4,2 grams is quite regular for lip balms) but since I’m used to tubes containing 20 grams I’ll just have to get used to the regular size again. They are a little pricier, especially because you pay extra for shipping costs as well, but if you order them in bulk they work out a lot cheaper.
I give these lip balms a 5 out of 5 paws and they have become my holy grail lip balms!
PS. I love all scents and flavours.

And now the star of the show: Badger Cocoa Butter lip balm in Lime Rocket
At first I was afraid I wouldn’t like these, because I really don’t like the scent or taste of cocoa butter (call me weird!) at all, so I decided to go with the lime scented/flavoured one. I can still smell a slight hint of cocoa butter, but nothing too overpowering. These balms contain 7 grams of product and that makes them a lot bigger than the regular ones. The cocoa butter lip balms are also more sturdy in packaging and as they say; you can’t lose it! I use the cocoa butter lip balm more often than the regular balms, because I find these to be a tad bit more hydrating and it lasts longer on the lips. If I apply this before I go to bed, I wake up with moisturised and smooth lips in the morning.

THE WAY IT LOOKS, SMELLS AND FEELS:
When you use this lip balm for the first time it’s pretty dry and needs to be warmed up. If you don’t warm it up the first time you use this bits tend to break off the sides. I have this lip balm for over a week now and I always have it somewhere near me. I prefer having it in my pocket for a little while so it gets a bit softer and it applies a lot smoother. There is a slight hint of cocoa in there, but the lime really makes it fresh and not chocolatey at all.
I absolutely love this lip balm. It is a bit dry when it’s not ‘warmed up’ so it applies a bit difficult, but as soon as your lips warm the product up it does wonders. It heals the most cracked and dry lips existing. I give this lip balm a 4 out of 5 paws, because it is a little on the dry side and needs warming up before applying.
